Purines are found in many foods, especially organ meats, anchovies, mackerel and sardines. Too much uric acid can lead to problems, including gout and kidney stones. For this reason, a low-purine diet is recommended for people who have hyperuricemia. The diet is often used with medication to lower uric acid levels. Some people can lower their uric acid levels through diet alone.

Here is the meal suggestion for low purine diet include breakfast, lunch, snack time and dinner.

Breakfast: Egg Club Sandwich

Egg contain omega-3 fats and a rich source of protein which low in purines. It is recommended to have a hard-boiled egg instead of fried one. Fried eggs may increase your LDL cholesterol but when you boil your egg, you actually increase your HDL cholesterol.
鸡蛋含有omega-3脂肪和丰富但低嘌呤的蛋白质来源。建议熟煮蛋代替煎蛋。煎蛋会增加您的低脂胆固醇,反而熟煮蛋会增加您的高脂胆固醇。
Lunch: White rice with stir-fry eggplant and western lemon chicken

Plenty of starchy carbohydrates include rice, potato and pasta contain small amount of purines.
Eggplant is among the lowest in purine content for vegetables. It only has 21mg of purine!
Chicken is moderately high in purines. Don’t worry, you still can eat chicken if you have high level of uric acid. Just remember to control portion and don’t go overboard with it. Preferably to eat the leanest cuts and don’t forget to take out the skin!

Dinner: Noodle with parmesan sauce

It is been known that dairy foods like milk, cheese and yogurt help increase the excretion of uric acid in the body. Parmesan sauce is a great choice to be served with noodle and a marvelous treat for dinner.
